Day-of-Event Helpers work before, during, and/or after events at the historic North Star House located at 12075 Auburn Rd, Grass Valley, CA.
There are several types of events we have each year: Fundraisers, Educational Lectures, and sometimes Music, Plays or other entertainment. You can read more about these under the “Events Committee” Volunteer Opportunity. All events support our mission of restoring The North Star House as a cultural event center for the community.
The Events Committee will solicit helpers for each of several events that we produce during the year. You can choose the ones you wish to participate in.
Prior to event: May include setting up chairs, tables, or other equipment. We’ll include details about heavy-lifting requirements in our call-for-help. There might also be setup of food or beverage service, setting out signs, overseeing parking.
During event: May include one or more of the following depending on the event
- Greeting, taking tickets, handing out programs
- Selling tickets for beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
- Selling raffle tickets
- Running and closing out a raffle
After event: Putting things away and cleanup. Once again might require some heaving lifting, which will be known in advance.
- Be on time and stay for the full time that you have signed up for.
- Be cheerful and helpful to the public.
