Fundraising
Partners in English Language Learning is a non-profit organization that has been teaching adult English Language Learners in our region with 40 to 50 trained volunteer tutors for more than 30 years. ESL is a widely used term meaning English as a Second Language. We match each learner with a personal tutor, and together they determine hours and location that are mutually agreeable. The tutoring is always free.
While the most visible volunteer role with PiELL is tutoring an English Language Learner, there are many other areas where your efforts can benefit our organization.
Fundraising: Chairs fundraising activities for a small, local nonprofit. Activities have typically consisted of coordinating with either a) local restaurants for a mutually agreeable date for restaurants to donate a percentage of the take to our nonprofit, and b) pro-bono musical events at local venues. Other activities are possible, with discussion and consensus of the board. Time estimate is 15 hours per quarter.
