COVID-19 Sew Masks for In-Home Care Providers

Caregivers play an essential role in assisting seniors and people with disabilities to live safely and independently in their homes. You can help them to do this important work.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, providers of the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program continue to work in the homes of some of the most vulnerable people in our community, doing everything from cooking to personal care. In order to protect consumers from potential exposure to COVID-19, we are in need of cloth masks for care providers.

Put your sewing skills to work to support this essential workforce.

You can find a pattern from Johns Hopkins University here or use the CDC's instructions on making a Sewn Cloth Face Covering. Please use only 100% prewashed woven cotton fabric. The fabric must have a pattern to it. To avoid confusion with medical-grade masks, do not use blue and white patterns. Never use solid white or solid blue.

When you are ready to drop off your masks, please email Leslie Kerns at lesliek@connectingpoint.org. Finished masks may be dropped off at the Connecting Point office at 208 Sutton Way in Grass Valley from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Please put your masks in a ziplock bag and include a note with your name, mailing address, and phone number.

Thank you for your support!
