Glossary

See our Glossary for a list of terms frequently used on the Volunteer Hub website.

For Volunteers

WHY ARE YOU ASKING FOR MY BIRTHDATE?

This is how our software, HandsOn Connect, complies with labor laws. A notice comes up if someone is under 13 years old.

WHAT KIND OF INFORMATION WILL CONNECTING POINT SEND ME?

If you have registered as a volunteer, you may receive emails related to your volunteer opportunities (additional information, reminders, etc.). Connecting Point may also send you an email newsletter highlighting volunteer opportunities.

For Partner Organizations

HOW DO I LIST MY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES?

STEP 1: Register your organization. Once you have submitted your registration, our Volunteer Hub Liaison will contact you within one business day to complete the process and activate your account. You will then receive an email with your login information.

STEP 2: Log in to the Volunteer Hub to access your Partner Portal page (the Login button is in the top left corner of the website). Select Volunteer Opportunities from the menu and follow the steps to create an opportunity. Connecting Point will send notice that your opportunity has been accepted and posted.

STEP 3: if you have any questions, contact Connecting Point at 530-274-5601 or volunteerhub@connectingpoint.org.

WHY DON'T I SEE MY ORGANIZATION/OPPORTUNITY LISTED?

To ensure quality, Connecting Point reviews each new organization and opportunity before it appears on the website. Your listing will be reviewed within one business day.

THE WEBSITE SAID THAT I WOULD GET AN EMAIL AND I NEVER RECEIVED ONE. WHY NOT?

Our email may have landed in your junk or spam folder. If it is there, move the email to your inbox and add our address to your contacts. If you don’t see an email from us, please feel free to contact us at 530-274-5601 or volunteerhub@connectingpoint.org.
