CANCELED DURING CORONAVIRUS-Receptionist - Congregate Lunch Café Program
Under general supervision and guidance from the Nutrition Program Manager, the Receptionist Volunteer will greet senior guests, answer phones, and provide program information.
Reports to: Nutrition Program Manager
Hours: 10:00am to 1:00pm, once a week (Monday - Friday) or as needed
Duites:
- Answer incoming telephone calls and, as appropriate, provide requested information, take messages or redirect inquires to the appropriate staff member
- Greet guests and assist them with signing in on the Sign-In Form
- Assist new guests with completing the Intake Form and provide them with a brief orientation of the dining Congregate Lunch Café
- Provide information to guests on the programs, activities and classes
- Assist individuals with completing membership application forms
- Provide guests with change with the cash box
- Prepare cash receipt as necessary
Skills:
- Affinity for and passion for working with people of all ages
- Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Able to hear and speak clearly
- Able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, members, staff and other volunteers
Requirements:
- Dependable
- Some knowledge of and a genuine concern for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of older persons
- Background check clearance
