Cashier, Sorter, Receiver at Cancer Aid Thrift Shop
Cancer Aid Thrift Shop has been financially supporting Nevada County cancer patients for over 50 years with proceeds from the Thrift Shop. We are currently assisting about 250 cancer patients.
The Thrift Shop is open Tuesday through Friday, 10am-3:30pm and we’d like to reopen on Saturdays when we have enough volunteers. We need men and women who can volunteer either a half day or full day on weekdays, or Saturdays so we can reopen then.
Full day shift is 9am-3:30pm and half day is either 9am-1pm or 11:30am-3:30pm.
Volunteer duties include receiving donations, sorting, and pricing donations as well as displaying and organizing items. No experience is required, just the desire to give your time to help our local cancer patients.
Like many organizations, we have been heavily impacted by COVID. Volunteer numbers shrank to the point that we had to close the shop Mondays and Saturdays. This reduced our revenue and therefore the amount of support we can provide to cancer patients. Being able to reopen on Saturdays would be a great support to those we serve.
