Wood Donation Pick Up Volunteer - Senior Firewood Program
Description:
Under general supervision and guidance from the Lead Volunteer, the Wood Donation Pick Up Volunteer is responsible for picking up wood from homes.
Reports to: Lead Volunteer and Program Manager
Hours: Mondays and/or Tuesdays, 8:00am to 12:00pm and/or flexible
Duties:
- Collect wood from peoples' home
- Buck wood as required, load onto vehicles, return to yard and unload
- Split wood and deliver firewood as needed
- Communicate equipment and supply needs to Firewood Donation Team Coordinator
- Track mileage and other expenses and turn in expense report at the end of the month
Skills:
- Compassion for seniors and a desire to help others
- Ability to lift and carry firewood
- Experience with chainsaws
- Able to read and interpret written instructions and maps
- Good verbal communication skills
Requirements:
- Use your own vehicle
- Background check clearance
- DMV driving record printout
- Current and valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance
