Food For Thought Volunteer
Do you want to advocate for farmed animals? Animal Place’s Food for Thought Program needs your help supporting our mission. Help us encourage animal shelters to serve fully vegan or vegetarian food at their events.
VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Remote
Time Commitment: 3+ hours per week; flexible
ABOUT ANIMAL PLACE’S FOOD FOR THOUGHT PROGRAM
Animal shelters and rescues save and protect animals. Unfortunately, countless shelters serve animal products at their events and fundraisers. Food for Thought encourages animal protection organizations to extend their compassion to all animals. We work with them to adopt a policy that states all their events will be fully vegan or vegetarian.
VOLUNTEER JOBS
We have several opportunities available. Choose one that fits your interests and skills.

Database Management

Research companion animal shelters, animal rescues, and animal sanctuaries within a given region.

Record the organization’s contact information in an Excel database.

Social Media
-
Create content for our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram).

Suggest captions for social media graphics.

Contact Vegan Companies
-
Research and contact vegan food companies for coupons/discounts. We will give these discounts to organizations that adopt a new vegan or vegetarian menu policy.

Record correspondences in an Excel database.

QUALIFICATIONS

Passionate about farmed animals and vegan advocacy.

Strong communication and listening skills.

Able to follow detailed instructions.

Reliable and dependable.

Work well with a variety of people.

Have access to a computer and reliable internet.
