Events Team at North Star House

 

Help bring community events to life at the North Star House.
From intimate talks to bustling fundraisers, our Events Team makes the magic happen—graciously, efficiently, and on-brand for a historic arts & crafts landmark.

When we meet: Second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM (planning)
When we work events: Select weekdays/evenings and weekends (you choose dates)


What you’ll do

  • Plan & Coordinate: Join monthly meetings to brainstorm themes, layout, flow, and staffing needs.

  • Set-Up Crew: Arrange tables/chairs, signage, décor, and room staging; set up check-in, donation, and info stations.

  • Hospitality & Guest Experience: Greet guests, manage will-call/check-in, answer questions, and keep the vibe welcoming.

  • Food & Beverage Support: Assist with refreshments, tidy service areas, restock, and maintain presentation standards.

  • Run of Show: Help cue speakers/performers, manage doors, support transitions, and solve small problems on the fly.

  • A/V & Tech Assist (optional): Basic mic checks, slide clickers, light sound support (training provided).

  • Breakdown & Reset: Tidy spaces, store supplies, and reset rooms so the House is ready for tours and rentals.


Time commitment

  • Planning: 2 hours/month (Second Tuesdays, 10 AM)

  • Event shifts: 2–4 hours per shift; sign up for dates that fit your schedule

  • You’re organized, punctual, and enjoy teamwork

  • You’re comfortable being on your feet and lifting up to ~20 lbs (accommodations available)


Training & support

  • Orientation to NSH history, brand standards, and guest experience

  • Shadowing available for first event shift

  • Clear run-of-show sheets, floor plans, and point-of-contact at every event
